Ingredients

  • 3 slices of our Sage & Onion Limited Festive Edition Bloomer
  • 125g of stilton and gruyere (or your favourite cheeses!)
  • 1 apple
  • A knob of butter
  • A dash of cider (or cider vinegar)
  • 3 shredded sprouts
  • A handful of sliced cabbage
  • 1 small red onion
  • 1 tsp wholegrain mustard
  • 1 large spoon of mayonnaise
  • 1 large spoon of apple sauce
  • 2 large spoons of bacon jam

Method



  • 3 slices of our Sage & Onion Limited Festive Edition Bloomer
  • 125g of stilton and gruyere (or your favourite cheeses!)
  • 1 apple
  • A knob of butter
  • A dash of cider (or cider vinegar)
  • 3 shredded sprouts
  • A handful of sliced cabbage
  • 1 small red onion
  • 1 tsp wholegrain mustard
  • 1 large spoon of mayonnaise
  • 1 large spoon of apple sauce
  • 2 large spoons of bacon jam

We love this festive twist on a classic!

What sounds better than our Sage & Onion Festive Bloomer lightly toasted and pan fried like a Croque Monsieur but with cider-glazed apples, bacon jam and brussel sprout slaw!

Try our stilton and gruyere triple decker toastie recipe:

  • Heat the butter in a pan and chop the apple into small slices. Place in the pan and gently sauté until soft and lightly browned. Add a splash of cider, reduce the heat and set aside.
  • To make the slaw, finely chop the sprouts, cabbage and red onion, mix in a bowl and add the mustard and mayonnaise.
  • Next, lightly toast 3 slices of our Sage & Onion Limited Festive Edition.
  • Top two slices with the cheese and place under the grill until the cheese has melted.
  • Layer the apple sauce, bacon jam and cider apples on top of the melted cheese slices and pop back under the grill for another couple of minutes (be sure to keep an eye on this as it can catch quite easily!).
  • Once heated, assemble the triple decker sandwich, placing the third slice of bread on the top 
  • Finally, cut the sandwich in half and serve it with the accompanying brussel sprout slaw. Enjoy!
