Who doesn’t love a mouth-wateringly good Welsh Rarebit and when it’s made with our 1851 Loaf, it’s just heavenly!

Our soft white open-top loaf is inspired by our heritage, our recipes in the archive and is baked using a traditional sponge and dough method for a distinctive taste, texture and crust.

Give it a go:

  • Melt the butter in pan
  • Add the milk and mustard, and heat through
  • Stir in the cheese and enough milk to make a smooth paste
  • Gently cook until cheese has melted
  • Remove from heat and season
  • Make toast, butter and spread with a layer of brown pickle
  • Top with the cheese paste and grill until it’s melted and golden brown
  • Sprinkle with chopped parsley
  • Enjoy!
